Parking at KLIA Terminal 1 — which car park to choose
KLIA Terminal 1 (KLIA1), Malaysia’s main international gateway in Sepang, has several car parks at very different price points. Picking the right one matters – a multi-day trip and a quick airport pickup call for completely different choices.
- Short-Term Car Park (STCP), Blocks A–D – connected to the terminal by covered walkways. Best for pickups, drop-offs and short stays. Starts at RM5 for the first hour and caps at RM52/day – the most expensive option for long stays.
- Long-Term Car Park (LTCP) – a free shuttle runs to the terminal roughly every 15 minutes. Far cheaper for overnight and multi-day parking: capped at RM32/day, with a promotional tiered rate that drops to as low as RM9/day from day 4. Best if you’re flying off for a few days.
- Preferred bays (Level 2, Blocks B & C) – the closest walk to the terminal, at a premium rate.
Ways to pay less
- Travelling for more than a day? Use the LTCP + shuttle, not the STCP – the daily-cap gap (RM32 vs RM52, falling to RM9/day) adds up quickly.
- Cheaper still: park at Salak Tinggi Park & Ride (from ~RM3/day) and take the KLIA Transit one stop to KLIA.
- Flying from Terminal 2 instead? That’s KLIA2 – separate car parks and rates.
- Skip parking entirely: KLIA Ekspres from KL Sentral reaches KLIA in about 28 minutes.
